Fleet Week '06 - USS Mason (DDG-87)

Sorry for the delay in posting these photos of the USS Mason. Of the three ships I was on last week, this one was the best, mostly because we had access to the bridge which had a lot of neat computer stuff. The Navy says that the Mason is one of the most technologically advanced ships in the world which makes sense since it was just comissioned in 2003. In addition to two Seahawk helos, it carries:
- 1 x 32 cell, 1 x 64 cell Mk 41 vertical launch systems
- 96 x RIM-67 SM-2, BGM-109 Tomahawk or RUM-139 VL-Asroc, missiles
- 1 x 5/62 in (127/62 mm), 2 x 25 mm, 4 x 12.7 mm guns
- 2 x Mk 46 triple torpedo tubes
